Specimens for virology testing in Hong Kong are undertaken by laboratories in public hospitals, private laboratories, and the Virology Division of the Public Health Laboratory Services Branch (PHLSB). Numbers and trends presented here should be interpreted in light of the specimen referral strategy of different health care institutions in Hong Kong.
