Spectrum of work:
Communicable disease control
-
Be responsible for epidemiological investigation on disease outbreaks, surveillance and control of communicable diseases in Hong Kong.
Non-communicable disease control
-
Be responsible for surveillance and control of non-communicable diseases of significance to the Hong Kong population and formulation of related strategies and programmes.
Health promotion
-
Be responsible for promoting knowledge-based, needs-driven, effective and coordinated health promotion actions; providing advice to the community and the District Councils on public health issues; coordinating with various local and overseas organisations to strengthen actions that improve the public health; and undertaking health promotion activities.
