Pregnant women
Protect yourself. Protect your baby. Get vaccinated against seasonal influenza.
If you are pregnant, the Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases recommends you to receive the seasonal influenza vaccination to protect yourself from infection and its complications. Vaccination is effective and safe to both yourself and your baby.
In Hong Kong, influenza is usually more common in periods from January to March and from July to August. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body. Get vaccinated early to ensure protection.
Ask your doctor or nurse for more information.
Government Assistance
Pregnant women receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance with antenatal appointments in public clinics are eligible for free seasonal influenza vaccination under Government Vaccination Programme.
Please call the 24-hour Health Education Hotline of the Department of Health 2833 0111 for more details.
