Laboratory surveillance on multi-antimicrobial resistant bacteria

The Microbiology Division of the Public Health Laboratory Services Branch (PHLSB) provides diagnostic laboratory services and receives referred isolates for confirmation and characterization testing. Laboratory surveillance data on various multi-antimicrobial resistant bacteria, based on unique patients, are presented as follows. Numbers and trends should be interpreted in light of small specimen numbers and different laboratory referral practices. Enquiries could be directed to the Microbiology Division.
