Notification of infectious diseases

How to notify infectious diseases?

In accordance with the Prevention and Control of Disease Ordinance (Cap.599), there are 47 notifiable infectious diseases. All registered medical practitioners are required to notify the Centre for Health Protection all suspected or confirmed cases of these diseases. Medical practitioners are also advised to report other diseases and conditions that are of public health concern. The Centre for Health Protection will conduct surveillance and control of these diseases.

The notification forms and contact details are shown in the table below. Alternatively, registered medical practitioners may choose to report through the secure and convenient web-based notification system available in the CENO On-line website (http://www.chp.gov.hk/ceno).

NB Anonymous HIV/AIDS reporting is handled by Special Preventive Programme, Public Health Services Branch, Centre for Health Protection. Please click here for details.
