Vasectomy (male sterilization surgery) is a relatively simple surgery involving a cut and ligation of the sperm ducts (vas deferens), thereby preventing the sperms from getting outside the body. This surgery will not affect the erectile function and sex life of men. After the surgery, there will still be ejaculation at sexual orgasm. The only difference is that the semen will no longer contain sperms. (Please note that: the semen will still contain small amount of sperms at the first few times of ejaculation after vasectomy, and they are capable of making a woman pregnant. However, the amount of sperms will decrease until there is no more sperm in the semen, when the sterilization effect is attained.) ( Last Updated: 30-08-2002 ) |
