Weekly consultation rates of acute diarrhoeal diseases reported by Family Medicine Clinics and Private Medical Practitioner (PMP) Clinics 2026

Week 14 (29/3 – 4/4)
Latest data reported by sentinel FMCs showed that the consultation rate for acute diarrhoeal diseases was at high level while the rate at PMP clinics has decreased. The CHP monitors the overall activity of common infectious diseases through a series of surveillance systems. The overall acute gastroenteritis activity in Hong Kong has slightly decreased compared to preceding week.

The CHP has started to use electronic data on diagnosis coding of patients of the Hospital Authority's Family Medicine Clinics for sentinel surveillance since January 2020, replacing manual data collection in the past.
