1. Can all doctors participate in VSS?

All medical practitioners registered with the Medical Council of Hong Kong who are in private practice and holding a valid annual practicing certificate can participate in VSS.

2. I have been enrolled in the VSS last year. Do I need to enrol for VSS 2022/23?

Doctors who have been enrolled in VSS before DO NOT need to go through any re-enrolment procedures. They only need to provide Programme Management and Vaccination Division with the updated information on (i) the specific target group(s) and (ii) amount of chargeable service fees of the vaccine that they would like to provide service under VSS 2022/23.

3. How can I enrol in VSS if I have joined Health Care Voucher Scheme?

Doctors may visit the Centre for Health Protection website (www.chp.gov.hk) for electronic or paper application for enrolment. If there is no change in information, you only need to return the duly completed Application Form and the Authority for Payment to a Bank form to the Programme Management and Vaccination Division by mail (preferably by registered mail). Support documents should be sent together with the application if there is any change in information. It takes up to 14 working days to process an enrolment application.

4. How can I enrol in VSS if I have not joined any subsidy schemes nor the Health Care Voucher Scheme?

Doctors may visit the Centre for Health Protection website (www.chp.gov.hk) for electronic or paper application for enrolment, and send the duly completed Application Form and the Authority for Payment to a Bank form together with all required documents to the Programme Management and Vaccination Division by mail (preferably registered mail). It takes up to 14 working days to process an enrolment application.

5. Can all doctors working under the same medical organisation use one application form instead of sending individual application forms to enrol in VSS?

Doctors have to enrol on individual basis since personal particulars and professional registration information are required from applicants. On the other hand, a doctor can list more than one practice providing subsidised vaccination service in the same Application Form.

6. Do I have to list out all the practising clinics when enrolling VSS?

You need to provide information of the clinics that will provide subsidised influenza vaccination service only, so that we can upload the information to the directory on Centre for Health Protection website (www.chp.gov.hk). If you would provide outreaching vaccination services at non-clinic settings, you should register with us the relevant information.

7. Do I need to submit the Application Form separately if my two practicing clinics are under different medical organisations?

You need to fill in the information about the two medical organisations in two sets of Application Form and the Authority for Payment to a Bank form, then send together with all required documents to the Programme Management and Vaccination Division by mail (preferably registered mail).

8. Can I request claims to be paid into different bank accounts for different clinics?

Yes. When enrolling in VSS, you may register different bank accounts for different clinics by filling in separate Authority for Payment to a Bank forms and specify the concerned clinic(s) in the "Name and Address of Practice" space. After you have enrolled in VSS, if you would like to add and/or change bank accounts, please complete a Change Form and an Authority for Payment to a Bank form.

9. If I encounter difficulties during on-line registration, where can I seek help?

You can call VSS Doctors' Line 2125 2299 for assistance during office hours.

10. How can I know my enrolment to VSS is successful?

Programme Management and Vaccination Division will send to your practice address by mailing the enrolment confirmation letter, a VSS logo, a VSS mini-poster, a smart card reader, an authentication token and other scheme materials.

11.  How can the general public know which doctors have joined VSS?

Information about doctors who have joined VSS will be posted on the Centre for Health Protection website (www.chp.gov.hk). Those who will organise vaccination activities at non-clinic settings will also be displayed at the website. Enrolled doctors will have to display the VSS logo and mini-poster in their clinics for public recognition.

12. If the VSS logo is lost, what should the enrolled doctor do?

The enrolled doctor should approach Programme Management and Vaccination Division for replacement. Vaccination Office may collect fee from the doctor for the replacement of scheme logo.

13. If the authentication token is lost, what should the enrolled doctor do?

The enrolled doctor should approach Programme Management and Vaccination Division for replacement. An administrative fee (currently set at $420 per token) will be charged for re-issuing a new authentication token.

14. If there is more than one VSS enrolled doctor in a clinic, do all enrolled doctors have to display their VSS logos near clinic's entrance?

If there is more than one enrolled doctor in a clinic, only one VSS logo has to be displayed at clinic's entrance to indicate that VSS service is available.
