Poultry workers, pig farmers and pig-slaughtering industry personnel
The Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases recommends poultry workers, pig farmers and pig-slaughtering industry personnel to receive the influenza vaccine to protect individual and public health.
Where do I get the vaccine from?
You will receive an invitation letter from a relevant Government department, e.g. Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, Food and Environmental Hygiene Department. Please bring along the stamped referral letter to any one of the designated General Outpatient Clinics under the Hospital Authority to receive free vaccination.
In Hong Kong, influenza is usually more common in periods from January to March and from July to August. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body. Get vaccinated early to ensure protection.
