The Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases recommends poultry workers, pig farmers and pig-slaughtering industry personnel to receive the influenza vaccine to protect individual and public health.
Where can I receive influenza vaccine?
Eligible staff could get a referral letter from your respective Government department (such as Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, Food and Environmental Hygiene Department). Please bring along the stamped referral letter to one of the designated Family Medicine Clinics under the Hospital Authority or District Health Centres / District Health Centre Expresses (for members only) to receive free seasonal influenza vaccination.
The Scientific Committee on Vaccine Prevention Diseases (SCVPD) recommended that October-November is the most optimal time for vaccination. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body. Get vaccinated early to ensure protection.
Recipients aged 18 or above must register for eHealth. For details of the registration, please visit the eHealth website: https://www.ehealth.gov.hk/en/you-and-your-family/how-to-register/register-online.html
