The season of 2022-23 seasonal influenza vaccination commenced on 6 October 2022. Pneumococcal vaccination for the elderly will continue throughout the year.
A person getting influenza and COVID-19 at the same time may be more seriously ill and has a higher risk of death, and influenza vaccination may reduce the likelihood of hospitalisation and length of stay. COVID-19 vaccines can be co-administered with, or at any time before or after, SIV (including inactivated influenza vaccine, live attenuated influenza vaccines and recombinant influenza vaccine) under informed consent. For more information on co-administration of SIV and COVID-19 vaccines, please click here. The list of private doctors/ clinics providing COVID-19 vaccination, list of outreach doctors, and the guidelines for arranging outreach COVID-19 vaccination activities are available at (https://www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/en/programme) for public's reference and selection of doctors.
