The Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS) 2017/18 has been launched on 18 October 2017. Eligible Hong Kong residents including pregnant women, elderly aged 65 or above, children aged between 6 months and under 12 years, persons with intellectual disability and persons receiving Disability Allowance are entitled to a HK$190 Government subsidy per dose of seasonal influenza vaccination received from private doctors enrolled in the VSS. In Hong Kong, influenza is usually more common in periods from January to March and from July to August. It takes about 2 weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body. Get vaccinated early to ensure protection.
Eligible elderly aged 65 or above can also get subsidy for pneumococcal vaccination (available throughtout the year). Subsidy level of one dose of 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (23vPPV) is HK$190. Subsidy level of one dose of 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) is HK$730. (details)
