The Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS) 2025-26 had commenced on 22 September 2025.

The Pneumococcal Vaccination Programme for the elderly will continue throughout the year.

The Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS) is a scheme that provides subsidised seasonal influenza vaccination and pneumococcal vaccination to eligible Hong Kong residents through the participation of private doctors. The Government reimburses subsidy to enrolled doctors for providing vaccinations to eligible persons. On top of the Government's subsidy, enrolled doctors may impose extra charge for the vaccination.

The Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases under the Centre for Health Protection has made recommendations on seasonal influenza vaccination for 2025-26 season and pneumococcal vaccination to enhance immunity of high-risk persons. The latest recommendations can be viewed here.
