Arrangement for 2024/25 Season (Latest Information)

Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to prevent seasonal influenza and its complications. To increase seasonal influenza vaccination (SIV) uptake amongst school students and to facilitate schools in arranging outreach vaccination, the Government launches the Seasonal Influenza Vaccination School Outreach Programme for all schools including secondary schools, primary schools, kindergartens, kindergarten-cum-child care centres, child care centres, special schools and special child care centres.

Schools may select to join the Seasonal Influenza Vaccination School Outreach (Free of Charge) Programme (SIVSOP) and/ or the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS) School Outreach (Extra Charge Allowed) to provide free or/and subsidised seasonal influenza vaccination for school children.

Schools enrolled under this programme can self-select a doctor and make arrangement for the outreach activity. In addition to participating school children, other persons such as school staff and student’s parents can also receive SIV during the outreach event.
