The "I'm So Smart" Community Health Promotion Program will focus on " Weight Management for all - Raising Awareness" in 2026/27, promoting "Healthy diet" and "Regular physical activity" through health promotion strategies.

Promoting Weight Management:

  • Awareness on self-perception on weight status
  • Accurate self-assessment of weight indicators, proper ways of measurement and interpretation of the metrics (Weight Management Compass), such as:
    • Body Mass Index (BMI)
    • Waist circumference
    • Waist-to-hip ratio
  • Individuals shall take initiative to learn about weight management and practice a healthy lifestyle. Besides, family members shall support each other to maintain a healthy weight.

Promoting Healthy Diet:

  • The Concept of energy Intake
  • To make informed dietary choice at point of purchase:
    • Checking nutritional labels of pre-packaged foods (Reference)
    • "EatSmart Restaurant Star+" offer "Vegetable and Fruit Choices" (more fruits and vegetables) and "3 Less Choices" (less oil, less salt, and less sugar) dishes.

Promoting Regular Physical Activity:

  • Varieties of physical activities with different intensity (Physical activity continuum):
    • Educate on metrics to measure energy body uses during physical activity (Reference), such as Metabolic Equivalent (Reference)
  • Tips on behavioral changes to become more physically active (Reference)
